The process of creating an assistant in Unleash begins when a workspace member adds the Unleash bot to a channel such as Slack, Teams, or others, where it monitors questions and provides answers. Once the bot is added, an assistant is created within the Unleash Assistant page, where the assistant creator configures the knowledge bases that the bot will utilize to respond to questions within the channels.
The assistant creator can set two primary data sources that the assistant will utilize when answering questions in channels: the Unleash knowledge base, which includes wikis, and the knowledge stored within the apps connected to Unleash. Acting as the backoffice for the creator's knowledge, the assistant employs assigned knowledge bases to formulate responses.
Furthermore, the creator possesses the capability to invite teammates to the assistant configuration page, granting them roles as either editors or viewers. Each role entails distinct permissions and responsibilities within the configuration process.
<aside> 💡 Sharing the assistant with teammates does not imply that they are included in the platforms where the bot provides answers. Various editors and viewers are involved in the configuration of the bot.

Different permissions apply to editing the assistant for creators, assigned editors, and viewers. When an assistant is created, it is automatically shared with the workspace admins who are granted editors access.
